For mountaineering, Ladakh offers several challenging peaks like Stok Kangiri Peak in Zanskar which is 6121 meters high and the Kangyaze Peak which is 6400 meters. Climbers need to obtain permission from the Mountaineering Federation in Delhi before they start their expedition.

White water rafting enthusiasts are offered great rafting adventure by the Zanskar and the Swift flowing Indus Rivers in Ladakh. This expedition is generally organized during the months of June to September and covers the stretches form the Indus River to the Choglamsar and from Nimmu to Phey in Ladakh.
