One of the popular destinations in the pilgrimage tour of India, Amarnath is one of the popular destinations pilgrimage destinations in India. it is visited by millions of people every year in just one month when it is open. An ice Lingam of Lord Shiva is worshipped by numerous devotes. The Lingham perches on a 4000 m high mountain and is covered by snow all round the year except in summers when the devotees are allowed to enter the cave. The most important Muslim Shrine in Kashmir, Hazratbal Mosque lies in a village of identical name along the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar opposite Nishat Bagh. Hazratbal Mosque has the holy relic of Prophet Mohammed. The importance of the shrine lies in the fact that it houses the Moi-e-Muqaddas which is The Sacred Hair of the Prophet Mohammed. The history of the shrine dates back to 17th century and it was exclusively constructed by Muslim Auqaf Trust with the objective of preserving the Prophet's hair, when it arrived in Kashmir in 1699. The Mata Vaishno Devi is one of the most vital pilgrimages of the Hindus shrine and is located in the Trikuta Mountains. The spot is placed inside a cave in the Trikuta Mountains in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, 14 kilometers from Katra. at the entrance to the cave, there begins a narrow tunnel with a cold stream running through it. This stream is called the Charan Ganga. There are rock cut idols of three deities inside the cave, namely. Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati. These idols have crowns made of gold and silver.

The sacred temple of Shankaracharya is located on the top of the hills, southeast of Srinagar and is regularly known as the Takht-i-Sulaiman. This temple is situated at a height of 1100 feet above the Srinagar city. The temple is devoted to the worship of lord Shiva. One has to travel to this pilgrimage to the top of the hills in the Srinagar region.

Charar-e-sharief has one of the most sacred Muslim shrines, which is commonly known as the Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali. This Muslim pilgrimage is dedicated to the memory of the Sufi saint Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani, who was the supporter saint of the Muslims in Kashmir. A number of historical events prompted the Sheikh to produce some valuable works of philosophy, in verses and poetry.

The Khanqah-e-moulah is commonly known as the Khanqah mosque or the Shah Hamdan Masjid. it is located on the banks of the river Jhelum. Sultan Shah Sikander in the year 1395 to tribute Mir Sayyid Ali Hamdani, commonly known as Shah Hamdan who used to visit Kashmir for meditation, constructed this mosque. The word Khanqah basically means a lodge or resting place for Sufi saints.
