The reservoir of the Chamera dam is built over the river Ravi. Chamera Lake is beautifully located amidst the verdant pine forest and shimmering valleys. Chamera Lake provides good irrigation facility to all the villages scattered around the lake. Chamera Lake is basically an artificial lake which came into existence due to the Hydroelectric Project in Himachal Pradesh.
The dam is located at about 36 kms away from the site and is 892 meters above the sea level. The dam has high fluctuations from April to June. The temperature goes down as much as 19 degrees centigrade. During December the temperature goes below zero degrees centigrade. One can enjoy the beautiful crystal clear water at Chamera Lake.
