Overview
Renuka Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Himachal Pradesh. Located in Parwanoo, which is about 60 kms from Paonta Sahib and 37 kms from Nahan. Renuka Lake has a circumference of 3214 m and it is 672 m long. It is among the major landmarks in Renuka which attract loads of tourist from almost every corner of the world.
It is a largest river in Himachal Pradesh which imitates a shape of reclining women. According to the Hindu mythology, lake metamorphoses the goddess Renuka. There is another sacred river near the Renuka Lake, which is speculated as a ‘son’ of goddess Renuka. Both lakes are surrounded by numbers of temples and the foremost temple, devoted to goddess Renuka, is regarded as most sacred and has been built overnight in 18th century. Serene water, calm ambience, innocent mountains and beautiful lush green trees around the lake are enough to allure its visitors.
