Overview
The city of Ajmer was founded by the 11th century Rajput ruler Ajayadeva. The city is located in the southwest of Jaipur along the streams of the Luni River, which flows in the southwestward. On one side of the city are the barren hills of the Aravalis and on the other side the city is overlooked by the Ana Sagar Lake. The city has many Mughal style buildings, as it was a strategic point in the Mughal era.

Summary
The most famous tourist spot in Ajmer is the tomb of the famous Sufi saint – Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti. The saint settled here at the end of the 12th century.
