Humayun’s Tomb which was built by his wife Haji Begum during the reign of Akbar is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal. This structure is one of the best examples of Mughal Architecture. Red Fort is a structure built in Red Sand Stone by Emperor Shah Jahan. This Red Fort was also known as the Lal Quila. Purana Quila or the Old Fort was the capital of the Pandavas - Indraprastha. The great legendary Prithviraj Chauhan was the ruler who had defeated Abdali during the battle of Panipat.
Built by the Muslim king Qutab-ud-din, Qutab Minar has a tower that stands about 72.5 meters high. It also has a mosque adjacent to it. The main attraction of this structure is the iron pillar which is located at the entrance. It is believed that it was built in the 5th century.
The India Gate which is located at Rajpath, in the vicinity of the Rashtrapati Bhavan is a war memorial built in the honor of the soldiers who died during the Second World War. Jama Masjid is one of the largest Masjid in India that has three gates for the convenience of the worshipers. This mega structure was completed in the year 1658 and was built by Emperor Shah Jahan.
Jantar Mantar is a garden built by Maharaja Jai Singh in the year 1719. The most surprising part of these observatories is that it can calculate several astronomical movements very perfectly.
