The lake that is beside the shrine has rocky shores that are covered with snow almost throughout the year. If one goes for tours to Hemkund in monsoon one might get to see the mythical ‘Brahma Kamal’, ‘the lotus of Gods’ that is yellow green in color. This star shaped Gurudwara is a memorial of the Tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Govind Singh, who meditated here for several years. This Gurudwara, situated on an altitude of around 4,000 meters, is accessible only from June to October.
