Overview

The Nature Park Manali is located in Kullu dist in the town of Manali. The sanctuary spans an area of 3,180 hectares. The sanctuary was included in the Punjab birds and Wild animals Protection Act, 1993. It forms the catchments area of Manalsu Khad. Alpine lush green pastures and glaciers compliment each other to create sheer surrealism

The nearest airport to Nature Park Manali is Bhuntar which is about 52 kms. The road from Bhuntar to Manali is studded with splendid sceneries and tshe road is traversed by numerous taxi operators. The commonly spotted fauna in the sanctuary are musk deer, monal and brown bear and even the snow leopard. The snow leopards are extremely shy creatures and rarely venture in to the open. The other fauna includes the Himalayan palm civet, flying fox, barking deer, Indian hare, Himalayan yellow throated marten and the Himalayan tahr.
